In 1898, the Historical Society of
published A Record of the Inscriptions in the Old Town
Burying Ground of Newburgh, N.Y. This book
included all of the stone inscriptions in the cemetery, along
with annotations about the individual buried. This Record also
divided the cemetery into five sections and numbered each grave
site. It is these numbers that we have used throughout
this website when identifying a location. Through a search on
the internet, I have found that Jane Devlin, who lives in
Michigan, has transcribed the entire Record. Click
